Plasmodium vivax - thin film with schizont which have 14 - 24 merozoites in enlarged red cell. The infected cell is shrivelled due to anticoagulant used to preserve blood. It is best to make the smears from native blood (ie. without anti-coagulant) as anticoagulant can distort the parasites.
